The Story of Stuff for Kids

Loop Scoops

Loop Scoops

Annie Leonard, (Story of Stuff, The Story of Cosmetics, The Story of Bottled Water, and The Story of Cap and Trade) has now partnered with PBS and applied her formula to educate kids — think Story of Stuff for kids.

LOOP SCOOPSare short, funny videos to get YOU thinking about the stuff in your life and what this stuff can do to the environment.

Each SCOOP tells the story of something you use or see everyday — a juice box, a magazine, an electronic gadget, a glass of juice, a pile of garbage.

We hope the videos will get you thinking in new ways and asking new questions, like: What is this made of? Where did it come from? Who made it? What happens when I throw it away?

The videos are great and hopefully help a lot of parents and kids have some great conversations about our stuff.

You can view them on the Loop Scoops web page or PBS’s YouTube Channel.

What do you think? Will this help you have these discussions with your kids?

Do you think it will help other families have important discussions?

Read an interview with Anne about the series.

It’s great! I am going to pass it on to my daughter for my grandson to watch :)
Have you shown it to your boys yet? :)

  2. Dani says:

This is so awesome! Our family just started trying to live more greener & healthier. We have 3 toddlers, and we’ve got plenty of toys now. Don’t plan on adding more to the pile for awhile. Discussing this challenge w/ the kids hasn’t happened yet, but I know what I’ll be able to show them when it does start! Ty! :D
